YFS Adams Street Expansion - Demolishing begins

 – By

As we head into May 2018 RCS Construction has begun the demolition of the former food pantry building and the old Piggly Wiggly grocery.  The building was located next to the YFS building on Adams Street.

The first phase of the expansion project is removing the existing structure from the lot and prepare the ground for the expansion of the Youth & Family Services facility.  The project is close to $14 million.  When complete it will add nearly 100,000sf to the current building.

The demolition portion of the project consists of the removal of two existing buildings.  There will need to be a great deal of site reconstruction and site preparation for the construction of the new building.  The plan is to construct a new  65,000SF building and remodeling of 10,000SF  of existing space.  The expansion project is scheduled to be completed in the Fall of 2019.

RCS has been a long time supporter of the Youth and Family Services programs and is honored to be able to partner with them on this master plan project.  When complete the new space will allow more services and more opportunities for the children that YFS serves.
