Spearfish WWTP Equal Basin

RCS Construction is pleased to announce the completion of the Spearfish Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Equalization Basin project! This innovative addition significantly enhances the plant's ability to provide uninterrupted wastewater treatment services for Spearfish residents.The newly constructed equalization basin allows plant crews to temporarily redirect wastewater flow, providing the flexibility needed to perform essential maintenance at the lift station without any disruption to city service. Lined with an ultra-high molecular weight plastic to prevent degeneration and seepage, this basin is a durable and crucial upgrade. The project, which came in under its initial budget at approximately $670,000, also includes both manual and automatic diversion systems for optimal control, as well as a 10-foot wildlife fence to protect the liner. This investment ensures reliable and efficient wastewater treatment for Spearfish for years to come.
