Pine Ridge Lift Station

The Pine Ridge Water Treatment Technology Project was a critical infrastructure upgrade that significantly improved utility services for the Pine Ridge community. This $1.5 million project addressed the need to replace an aging and failing lift station, which had experienced frequent pump failures and posed environmental and operational concerns for the Oglala Sioux Tribe.

The project included the installation of a new double-box culvert duplex lift station, along with an emergency standby generator to ensure reliable operation. These improvements eliminated the potential for harmful discharges and enhanced the dependable transport of wastewater to the treatment facility, supporting both current and future community needs.

By modernizing essential infrastructure, the project strengthens system reliability, protects public health and the environment, and helps ensure long-term service for the Pine Ridge community.
