Jackson Boulevard Street and Utility Improvements

Jackson Blvd Phase 1 involved a comprehensive range of work along nearly 10 blocks of one of the busiest roads in Spearfish. The project included street and utility construction, as well as asphalt and concrete surfacing, decorative median islands, and landscaping enhancements. Work began with the installation of several large stormwater structures designed to filter stormwater before it enters Spearfish Creek. The project then progressed up Jackson Blvd, extending 9 blocks toward the Interstate, with new storm sewer mains being installed along the way. Despite challenging rain and wet conditions, the crews maintained steady production and completed the storm sewer installation on time. It was a race against the weather to lay over 5,000 tons of asphalt across the project area. With the majority of the work now complete, crews are currently focused on putting the finishing touches on Phase 1, ensuring a high-quality and durable finished product.
